The ‘Physics’ of Mr. Claus

Standard

Pulleys, The Theory of special Relativity, electrodynamics, thermodynamics, quantum mechanics are as much as a mystery to me today as much as they were during my college days. After several attempts at trying to figure out theories that were beyond my spectrum of my understanding and mind-boggling equations that took hours to cram but less than the speed of light to forget, I decided that only an ‘accelerated force’ from the Heavens could ‘gravitate’ me through the final Physics paper.

When I read a feature that questioned “Was Einstein a Space Alien?” I must confess that I was relieved that my incapacity to understand the subject finally had an explanation. I was only too glad to agree with the feature writer who was painstakingly trying to prove that Einstein’s ‘out-of-this-world’ ideas were not normal for the mortals of this world.

Yet, when a Physicist has used Einstein’s Theory of Relativity to put a ‘Physical’ explanation to how Father Christmas can deliver presents to 700 million children squeezing himself down the chimneys over 31 hours without being seen or heard, I was amazed that the most dreaded branch of Science that finally had an answer to the existence of Mr. Claus and his mysterious ways.   (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/science/2016/12/14/einsteins-theory-relativity-explains-father-christmas-can-fit)

Now that Mr. Claus will be taking his much-deserved rest, after a busy night of speed travel, with a stomach full of minced pies, it is best that we shift focus to enjoying the festivities and another Christmas holiday with family and friends.

Wishing you and your family all happiness and joy!

Merry Christmas!
